高雄2009世界運動會為台灣首次辦理之大型國際綜合性運動賽會，其衍生的經濟面相關效應是主辦單位、政策領導者與當地居民所關切的主要項目之一。因此本研究目的為評估世運會與會人士與觀眾之消費金額對於高雄市經濟環境之影響，其結果可用於瞭解賽會參與者之消費情形及遊憩特性，並計算舉辦此次賽會對於就業，薪資，稅收的貢獻程度。此研究結果不僅可用於評估遊客消費對高雄市企業的重要性，以利申請中央政府財政補助，爭取未來大型賽會活動之舉辦權、更可提供給國際賽會的主辦城市作為未來政策擬定之參考。
Large-scale, high-profile sport events have been increasingly positioned as an important strategy in gaining international recognition for the host destination as well as generating significant social, cultural and economic benefits for the region. The 2009 World Games is hosted in Kaohsiung Taiwan from July 16 to 26, 2009. This event represents a rare opportunity for the host city as this is the first international mega sport event ever held in Taiwan. The number of participating athletes and coaches are estimated to be 4,600, the inviting guests as 1200 and with numerous spectators. Therefore, the purposes of“Tourism economic impacts study for the 2009 Kaohsiung World Games”are first, to estimate the economic impacts of World Games visitor spending in Kaohsiung area, and second, to evaluate the operation of tourism-related industries before, during and after the Games. Results of this study can be used to direct long-term tourism development and provide suggestions for hosting future events or festivals in Taiwan. |
